In this Shimoda/Izu trip, I visited other places as well nearby the resort hotel we stayed in.
In 1853, when Matthew Perry,US Navy, commodore(as you may know his name by history) arrived in Japan with his famous “Black Ships”, he stopped by Shimoda and walked on the road the small town of Shimoda at that time…After that, they named it”Perry Road.”
On our 1st day of this trip, we headed out to Perry Road.
It was very hot day…we were looking for the coffee shop.
I didn’t mention about the place that we went to right after we got in Shimoda.
We had lunch here, then I ate this special sushi bowl!!!
It was looking good but the taste was ok to me…
Thanks to Yuki who planned all this for us 🙂
